The clinic temporarily relocated to the Prince of Wales showgrounds on Monday in anticipation of a rise in testing from returned travellers from New South Wales.

But confusion at retesting requirements meant test numbers were lower than expected on the first day of screening at the showgrounds.

The drive-through clinic remained at the showgrounds until Friday.

It returned to Stewart Street, at the old hospital emergency department, on Saturday.

More than 470 people got tested at Bendigo Health's walk-in and drive-through testing clinics between Monday and Thursday.

The walk-in clinic remained at Stewart Street throughout the week.

The Victorian government relaxed its travel restrictions in parts of Queensland on Saturday morning, enabling more travellers to apply for permits to come home.

Victoria's designated 'red zones' in the Queensland local government areas of Greater Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Redland, Logan, and Ipswich will be downgraded to 'orange zones' from 6pm today. People in those areas will then be able to apply for orange zone permits to return to Victoria.

Travellers will need to get COVID tested within 72 hours of arriving in Victoria and will have to isolate pending a negative test result.

Both Bendigo Health drive-through and walk-in clinics on Stewart Street are open from 10am - 5.30pm, seven days a week.

COVID-19 screening is also available at the Bendigo Respiratory Clinic, which offers appointment-only testing from 9.30am - 4pm on weekdays.
