Local skaters are encouraged to get involved in the Australian Skate Park League when it arrives at Castlemaine Skate Park on January 23. The series is a national grass-roots skateboard, scoot and BMX competition.
Mount Alexander Shire Council youth activities officer Jodie Hearn hopes the event will showcase teh region's young skaters and riders.

"Castlemaine has a fantastic skate park, which makes it an ideal venue for an Australian Skate League regional heat, as well as an awesome training venue for locals," she said.
"There are lots of talented riders in our shire, and I'm looking forward to being able to cheer them on."
The event will be alcohol, drug and smoke free and fully supervised with CovidSafe precautions in place.
The regional heat of the Australian Skate Park League series is at Castlemaine Skate Park in Green Hill Avenue from 11am on January 23. Entry to the competition is free. To register go to www.skateparkleagues.com
