A PROBATIONARY driver will be charged with speeding after police clocked a vehicle travelling at 169km/h at Bridgewater.
The 18-year-old Surf Coast man allegedly told police he was trying to reach the bakery before it closed.
Police detected the vehicle travelling on Bridgewater-Maldon Road just before 6pm on January 6.
The speed limit on that section of road was 100km/h.
Police said the teen's vehicle was impounded and he would need to attend court to answer a speeding charge.
The man got his probationary licence in October.
