BENDIGO Foodshare will receive a total $768,750 in grants to strengthen its food relief services.
It includes $400,000 to assist Foodshare to relocate to new premises at 113 Garsed Street, for a nominal rent for 15 years.
The move will allow Bendigo Foodshare to double its available space for food warehousing, staff and volunteers.
A $368,750 sum includes funding to continue operations, including hiring a manager, operations coordinator, and marketing manager.

It will also support operating costs for the warehouse.
It comes after a demand for food relief rose by about 60 per cent per week during the COVID-19 pandemic.

BENDIGO Foodshare will soon provide services from a new, regional food hub, designed to be part of a network coordinating food relief across Victoria.
The state government has announced the $3.5 million funding to build five hubs as part broader funding for community food relief.
The five hubs are designed to strengthen the links between suppliers and people experiencing food insecurity.
Bendigo, Mildura, Warrnambool and Albury Wodonga Regional foodshare, as well as the Geelong Relief Centre will provide the new services.
Ballarat and Moe are already home to new distribution centres.
The hubs are due to be complete in late 2022.
