A few weeks ago Bendigo's Caleb Logan scored an after-the-siren goal to put the Essendon Bombers into the Victorian Wheelchair Football League 2020 grand final.
Logan's aim whenever he plays is to make the biggest possible impact.
His impact certainly changed the course of the semi-final with the clutch goal against the Tigers to win the match 8.4-52 over 8.0-48.
"There was about 14 seconds left and we were just trying to get it down there as quickly as we could," Logan said.
"I scored the goal and it got us straight through."
Next up was the grand final against St Kilda Saints, but unfortunately Logan and the Bombers went down by 14 points, final scores 6.4-41 over 4.3-27.
Logan said he didn't make as greater impact in that game that he'd hoped, but nonetheless was happy with his overall performance.
The 2020 Robert Rose Foundation VWFL season was played over 10 rounds with five teams in the competition: Collingwood Magpies, Hawthorn Hawks, Bombers, St. Kilda and the Tigers.
The VWFL's aim is to provide Victorians with a physical disability the chance to play football in a fun, social and competitive environment.
The season usually starts around May through to August, but this year was delayed due to COVID-19.
"We all loved playing this year and it was great to see everyone again even though it was a bit of a strange season with all of the COVID-19 rules," he said.
Last year's season marked Logan's third with Essendon and over the three year-period he has continued to develop as a player, recognised by several accomplishments.
In the past he's been the Bombers' best and fairest, the club's leading goalscorer (31 in 2018 and 30 in 2019) in addition to several other achievements.
His career started a few years ago from a simple email he received from Disability Sport and Recreation.
"They said they were looking to start a wheelchair league and I was onto it straight away," Logan said.
The proud Bombers supporter who was born with Spina bifida, was then stoked to receive a phone call from the club letting him know that he'd been chosen as the first pick.
"I just love footy," he said.
"I want to play football for as long as I can with a goal to be the best player in the league.
"I will never give up."
Moving forward his aim is to help bring a big football event up to Bendigo with the likes of the district's products Dustin Martin and Joel Selwood.
