BENDIGO’S rowing superstar Hannah Every-Hall has taken another step towards her 2012 Olympic dream, winning the lightweight single sculls event at the 2010 national rowing championship.Every-Hall withstood the rough conditions at Lake Nagambie to take out the title by a comfortable two second margin from 2008 champion Alice McNamara and 2009 champion Bronwen Watson. The rower can now add the national title to her array of recent successes, which include the New South Wales and Queensland lightweight single scull crowns.Every-Hall is no stranger to success, being a member of the 2002 World Championship winning lightweight quad crew before being struck down by illness before the 2004 Athens Olympics. But after many years of hard work, Every-Hall is on the comeback trail and is now focused on her Olympic campaign in London in 2012.“When I decided to come back, I knew I wanted to make the finals in these events,’’ she said.“I’ve reassessed and now my sights are firmly set on getting to the 2012 Games.’’But despite performing at an elite level, Every-Hall acknowledged that the Games were are still a long way away.“Although I’ve had a good year, basically I’m going to have to do it all again next year to make it to London,’’ said the nominee in The Advertiser Sports Star of the Year for 2009-10, which is supported by WIN Television and MECU Credit Union.“But at the moment it’s all coming fairly easily, so in that respect I feel I can go on like this for the next two-and-a-half years.’’This weekend’s action includes the Interstate Regatta.
