Black cars staffed by the Public Order Response Team patrolled everything from country roads, major highways and suburban streets on Monday.
The teams focused on speed, drink driving and seat belt safety.

Operation Roadwise began at 12.01am on Friday December 18. It will run until 11.59pm on Wednesday January 6.
Police have urged drivers to slow down, avoid distraction such as mobile phones, use their seatbelt and stop for appropriate rest breaks on long trips.
A total of 213 people lost their lives on Victorian roads in 2020.
