The two power associations played each other across most of the grades and victories were shared.
Bendigo won the battle in the under-13A, under-13B, under-15, under-16 and under-17 boys divisions, while Shepparton took the points in the under-15A and under-14 boys age groups.
The inaugural under-14 girls division game at Shadforth Park saw Goulburn Murray defeat Bendigo after Grace Moyle scored a brilliant century.
Shepparton proved too strong for Goulburn Murray in the under-17 girls, while Bendigo had the bye.
UNDER-17 BOYS
The under-17 boys division plays two T20 matches each day and Bendigo made a dream start by defeating Shepparton in both of its matches.
Tom Perrin (3-24) and Nash Robinson (2-25) led a disciplined Bendigo bowling attack in game one as the home side restricted Shepparton to 7-101 at Bell Oval.
Strathdale team-mates James Barri (42) and Wil Tuohey (31 off 18 balls) ensured Bendigo had little trouble in chasing down the target with 37 balls to spare.
In game two, Bendigo posted 4-119 off its 20 overs thanks to Jasper Langley's 48 off 44 balls and Tuohey's 34 off 40 balls.
Bendigo restricted Shepparton to 4-106, with Robinson (2-12) capping a fine day with the ball.
Upper Loddon scored two gutsy wins over Seymour at Wade Street.
In game one, Issac Holt (28) and Gabe Nevins (3-6) were the stars as Upper Loddon (7-86) defeated Seymour (7-81) by just five runs.
It was a similar contest in game two. Upper Loddon made 8-79, with Fergus Bear top-scoring with 30.
The ULCA bowlers did a great job to dismiss Seymour for 69. Holt had the brilliant figures of 4-11 and Harry McKinley claimed 2-6.
In the other under-17 encounters on day one, Murray Valley edged out Goulburn Murray twice.
UNDER-16
Bendigo scored an impressive first-up win over Shepparton at Mooroopna.
After restricting Shepparton to 8-132 from ist 45 overs, Bendigo cruised to a seven-wicket win with 11 overs to spare.
Louis Banfield (2-21) was best with the ball for a Bendigo team that executed three run outs in a strong fielding effort.
Openers Sam Lowes (29) and Wil Gilmore (24) laid the foundation before Xavier Austin (32 not out) and Deacon Evans (32 not out) sealed the deal.
In the other under-16 clash, Goulburn Murray (5-205) defeated Murray Valley (152) by 53 runs on the back of fine performances from Kobyn James (79) and Declan Pearse (6-31).
UNDER-15A
A fine innings from Shepparton skipper Mason Reeves denied Bendigo a day one win in the under-15A division.
Reeves made 62 not out to guide his side home by two wickets in the second-last over.
Bendigo's top-order Jasper Cheesman (28), Hugh Rathjen (23), Brodie Reaper (26) and Tyler Green (27) made good starts before Archer Day made a brisk 32 in their side's total of 8-165 off 45 overs at Weeroona Oval.
Bendigo appeared to have Shepparton on the ropes at 7-119, but Reeves didn't panic and 62 off 84 balls was good enough to get Shepparton the points.
Noah Cain (2-15) and Chessman (2-29) were the most successful bowlers for Bendigo.
In the other round one clash, Goulburn Murray (9-179) scored a convincing win over Murray Valley (102).

McCulloch took 2-12 off six overs with the ball and top-scored with 33 with the bat in Bendigo's seven-wicket victory.
Opening pair William Mannes (2-11) and Orin McKay (1-13) set the tone as all of Bendigo's bowlers did their job in Shepparton's total of 9-107 off 45 overs.
Bendigo keeper Lachlan Ross collected three stumpings in a good day with the gloves.
In reply, McCulloch and Mason Horne (24) added 72 for the second wicket as Bendigo took just 32.2 overs to win the game.

UNDER-14 BOYS

Kyen Burrill-Grinton and Ollie McMurray were the wicket-takers for Bendigo.
In reply, Bendigo made a solid start to be 2-41, but a middle-order collapse of 5-9 put paid to any chance it had of winning the game.
Oliver Hannaford's 31 off 43 balls was the only shining light with the bat for Bendigo, which eventually finished 9-104 off its 40 overs.
Goulburn Murray (6-153) also scored a first-up win over Murray Valley (82).
UNDER-14 GIRLS
Goulburn Murray's Grace Moyle had a day to remember against Bendigo at Shadforth Park.
Moyle (3-10) and team-mate Marli Hollamby (3-16) bowled tightly, but Bendigo still appeared to post a good score of 9-180 on the back of a fine unbeaten 69 by Zoe Ross.
However, Moyle showed her class by slamming a superb history-making century in the first Northern Rivers under-14 girls Country Week game.
Her brilliant innings saw the visitors home in a high-scoring encounter.
UNDER-13A
Bendigo made a strong start to its under-13A campaign.
Bendigo's bowlers gave little away in Shepparton's innings of 8-113 from 40 overs at Marist College.
Jonty Yates (3-9) was the chief destroyer, while Taj Taylor (2-6) and Xavier Grant (2-10) picked up vital wickets.
Opening batsman Oscar Cail was the backbone of Bendigo's innings.
Cail (45) batted the majority of the innings and was involved in a match-winning fifth-wicket partnership of 64 with Clayton Smith (20).
Cail and Smith saw Bendigo over the line and the home side finished 7-143 off its 40 overs.
