It comes as Victoria records 36 known active cases of the virus and heightened demand for screening.
Aged care residents are able to have one visitor at any time, once a day for a maximum of two hours under the federal Department of Health's updated advice.

There are no time limits for visitors providing essential care.
Two people are allowed, without time restrictions, for end of life visits.
Hospital patients are allowed two visitors a day for up to one hour.
Heathcote Health is among the central Victorian health services to advise of the changes.
Bendigo Health also made changes to its visiting policy at the weekend, in line with advice from the health department.

Residents in Bendigo Health's residential care facilities are allowed one visitor a day for up to two hours.
Otherwise, Bendigo Health patients are allowed two visitors a day, for up to an hour each.
The relevant nurse unit manager has discretion over any special considerations.
All visitors need to wear a mask and be screened on entry to the facility.
COVID testing sites
Heathcote Health has requested people call to register to attend its COVID-19 testing clinic.
The clinic is open from 10am to 11am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, according to a post on social media.
Heathcote Health has urged people to get tested if they have symptoms, have recently returned from New South Wales, or have been asked to as a result of a close contact.
The number to call to pre-register for testing is 5431 0900.

A pop-up clinic at Castlemaine Health's urgent care on Odgers Road was listed among the new testing sites on the Department of Health and Human Services website on Monday.
The drive-through clinic was open from 1.30pm - 5pm.
