It had previously been sold between February 5 and March 3.
Product Safety Australia warns the vacuum's motor could overheat when the dust filter is blocked, which can result in a fire.
A fire could risk serious injury to the user and other household occupants and damage to property.
Anyone who bought the vacuum should return it to any Aldi store for a full refund.
The defective vacuums have BVC-KPA24 / 700175 or VCK24 / 702119 printed on the rating label located on the underside of the appliance.
People can call the Aldi recall helpline on 1300 124 326 from Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.30pm, or visit aldi.com.au/en/about-aldi/product-recalls/ for more information.
