The first day of the carnival saw the juniors compete across a range of wheelraces from under-11 all the way through to under-17 before the senior riders hit the track later in the day for the night session.
Overall the club's president Garry Pontelandolfo said it was wonderful to see the juniors out racing after what had been such a testing year for sport.
"There was in excess of 80 juniors out on the track for the first session of the carnival which was great to see so much enthusiasm," he said.
"One of the members told me his daughter was up, fully dressed and ready to ride at 6am in the morning," he laughed.
"That's how keen and dedicated these juniors are."
One of the biggest concerns ahead of the event was if families were eager to head out to large-crowd events, but so far it has not been a problem at all with great spectator turnouts.
The best part was to see generations of the same family lining the track at the Tom Flood Sports Centre cheering on the junior cyclists.
"There were plenty of parents, uncles, aunties and grandparents who made it out for the first morning and of course that's in addition to all of our competitors," Pontelandolfo said.
"We're really happy with the crowd numbers."
The two-day carnival includes both the men's (Tuesday) and women's (Monday) under-17 state scratch championship races.
In the women's final Belinda Bailey secured the top spot on the podium, followed by Haylee Jack in second, Alana Hribar in third and Ava Giramondo in fourth.
Other feature events include the Madison, with the biggest of the carnival to come on Tuesday evening in the way of the annual Lindsay Harrington Memorial Wheelrace.
The race is named after BDCC life member Lindsay Harrington and each year a member of the family presents the trophy to the race winner.
The BDCC Christmas Carnival is part of four days of non-stop racing, with both Shepparton and Castlemaine holding track events earlier this week.
BDCC riders showed top-form during both the men's and women's under-17 Madison Championships in Castlemaine.
In the women's event a Lilyth Jones-Milana Freer pairing saw the duo take first place with 18 points, followed by Haylee Jack and Belinda Bailey on 14 points.
In the men's race Angus Gill continued with his impressive season by taking out the event alongside Nate Hadden on 18 points, followed by Jamie Coles and Eddie Jiravec on 14 points.
