Kailin Thomas on Monday pleaded guilty in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court to two charges of failing an oral fluid test.

The court heard on May 14 this year, officers saw Thomas driving a Holden Calais in Long Gully.

Thomas was intercepted for a preliminary breath test, which showed he had no alcohol in his system.

He then underwent a preliminary oral fluid test, which detected an illicit drug. Forensic testing of the sample showed methamphetamine was present.

Thomas was interviewed by police and he admitted to using the drug ice.

The court heard then about 8.30am on May 25, police stopped Thomas driving a Holden sedan in Long Gully.

The preliminary breath test showed no alcohol present in his system.

A preliminary oral fluid test showed signs of an illicit substance. Tests showed there was methamphetamine present.

Thomas told police he had not consumed drugs recently but that he had taken methamphetamine about three days before the incident.

Magistrate Rodney Higgins convicted and sentenced Thomas to a $750 fine. Thomas' licence was also suspended for 12 months.
