All presents left under the tree in the paper's Williamson Street office will be donated to St Vincent de Paul as the not-for-profit sees rising demand because of the pandemic.
Since COVID-19 erupted in Australia a third of vulnerable people approaching the service because have had no income.

The holiday season often becomes a tipping point for those in crisis, Vinnies' Barb Anglin said.
"Our members at our assistance centre also reported that the number of previous callers increased significantly from September to November," she said.
A Bendigo Vinnies group is helping 68 families with food cards, hampers, gift cards and toys to bring good cheer.
Volunteers last week removed their first load of gifts from under the tree but there are still children in need.
