STAFF at the new Victoria Hotel are thrilled to be part of the Eaglehawk community so have decided to support The Advertiser’s Buy Local campaign. The family-friendly hotel was renovated just two months ago and now includes a magnificent lounge room and a play room for children. The business operates from 11.30am seven days a week and provides meals at affordable prices.Breakfasts, from 9am until 11am, are also served on Sundays. In addition, The New Victoria Hotel Eaglehawk can host weddings and other functions. It sources most of its products locally, and almost all staff members are from Eaglehawk. Owner Dave Carter believes it is essential to support local businesses. “In such a small community you really need to back everyone else up,” he said.“You’ve got to look after small businesses - the more shops the better.“It’s a matter of keeping money in Bendigo. That’s all it comes down to.”The business also supports Eaglehawk Lions Club, Bendigo Cricket Umpires, Eaglehawk Football Club and various other community organisations. The hotel is situated on the corner of Victoria and High streets.
