KYNETON police have charged a man on summons after officers caught him driving over the legal blood alcohol limit twice in one day.

The 62-year-old Fitzroy North man first returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.104 when police intercepted him about 9am on December 7 on the Tylden-Woodend Road.
Police issued him with an infringement notice and suspended his licence immediately for 10 months.

About 11.45am police saw the same man driving on Forrest Street, Woodend. He returned a breath test of 0.081 when intercepted.
The man's car has been impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1475, in addition to the charge on summons for drink driving.
