The Medical Equipment Replacement Program will deliver a new CT machine to the health service during the first half of 2021.
Bendigo Health chair Bob Cameron said 10,000 patients receive a CT scan at the hospital each year, with the new machine to boost capacity by up to 25 per cent.

"We currently have two scanners, both of which are very good, but one doesn't do heart and brain scans," Mr Cameron said.
"Now that we are a 24-hour heart hospital and undertake a lot of brain scans, it's very important we have two CT scanners to meet that demand."
Bendigo West MP Maree Edwards said the state government is giving doctors and nurses the equipment they need to do their job and save lives.
"The CT scanners are a really important piece of equipment for hospitals," Ms Edwards said.
"This comes off the back of the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund which has delivered enormous support for our hospitals across regional Victoria."
The 2020-21 Victorian Budget provided a $35 million boost to the Medical Equipment Replacement Program.
An additional $120 million was announced in the Budget for the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund, bringing its total value to $470 million.
The RHIF investment includes operating theatre refurbishments, new waiting rooms, hospital beds, accessible paths and ramps and additional consulting rooms.
