It's part of plans to accommodate a four-fold increase in population predicted expected for Marong over the coming years.
City of Greater Bendigo active and healthy manager Lincoln Fitzgerald said the plan would guide future development and maintenance of the park.
Mr Lincoln said the city wanted to know how Marong residents used the reserve, and what they and the wider community would like to see in the future.
He said it was important Marong had the necessary infrastructure for population growth, given the predicted boom.
Mr Lincoln said the findings of the community survey would inform the develop of a draft masterplan for the site, which the city would then release for consultation and feedback.
Malone Park is home to the Marong Football and Netball Club, and the Marong cricket, bowls and harness clubs. The Marong Gold Club is also managing land next to Malone Park, to the south.
