Sergeant Rod Davis said a red Holden Cruze wagon was seen driving erratically in White Hills about 7pm.
Highway Patrol officers attempted to pull over the car, which was travelling about 90km/h in a 60km/h zone, but the driver failed to stop.

The officers abandoned the chase around Eaglehawk Road due to the dangerous driving.
Sergeant Davis said then about 10.46pm, police received reports of a vehicle driving erratically on the Calder Freeway into Bendigo.
Highway Patrol officers then saw the car speeding and driving dangerously in the Bendigo CBD.
Police tried to stop the car but the driver did not listen to the officers.
Sergeant Davis said that police pursuit was also abandoned.
The sergeant said police were still looking into the two incidents, although they were not believed to be connected.
"The drivers made the clear decision to not obey the police," Sergeant Davis said. "They need to be mindful of the risk they put to other people, any occupants in their cars, and police members.

"Drivers should simply pull over and obey police, rather than ending up in what could be a fatality."
Sergeant Davis said drivers also needed to be extra cautious on the roads due to the COVID-19 restrictions changes.
"There are a lot more people out and about," he said. "There's a lot more pedestrian traffic and there are road closures because of outdoor dining.
"It has certainly changed the dynamics of the streets around the CBD. Drivers need to be observant, travel at a lower speed in the CBD, and be aware of those changes."
Sergeant Davis said anyone who had information about the Saturday night incidents should contact the Bendigo Police Station on 5448 1300.
