He had every right to talk about himself.
The first thing the Cohuna-based teen wanted to talk about was how great the draft period had been for his club the Bendigo Pioneers.
Treacy was one of four Pioneers' products alongside Seamus Mitchell, Jack Ginnivan and Will Shaw to find AFL homes.
"I'm stoked for the result that we've had,'' Treacy said.
"Seamus going to Hawthorn last night was awesome and then Ginni (Jack Ginnivan) being picked up by Collingwood just after me was great as well.
"Shawry (Will Shaw) has been put on GWS' list as well, so it's been a great 24 hours for the club.
"I'm very happy for all the boys."

That team-first attitude and humble approach were two of the reasons he was appointed co-captain of the Pioneers in 2020 and are attributes that attracted the attention of the Dockers.
Treacy was the no.1 ranked bottom-age key forward in the NAB League in 2019 and finished fourth in the Pioneers' best and fairest.
From the family dairy farm in Cohuna it's approximately 3255km to Fremantle.
While he'll miss his close-knit family, Treacy welcomes the opportunity that comes with heading west.
"I'm excited for the challenge it's going to be,'' he said.
"It's a big step in life, but it's one that I want to take and I'm looking forward to it."
The COVID-19 pandemic meant Treacy didn't get the chance to play footy in 2020, but he used that disappointment as motivation.
"I just got on with it, did what I could and controlled the controllables,'' he said.
"Although I didn't get to play footy, it was good for me to get that extra fitness in to improve my game."
Treacy returned to Pioneers' pre-season training in peak condition and the Dockers liked what they saw.
Freo used their first pick in the rookie draft on the 18-year-old.
"I was just sitting at home with family and then my name popped up,'' he said.
"Mum screamed and it was pretty exciting. The phone hasn't stopped ringing since."
Dockers' duo Caleb Serong and Lachlan Schultz were quick to send messages to their new team-mate.
Serong, the 2020 AFL Rising Star winner, played with Treacy in the AFL Academy, while Schultz grew up in Echuca and played for the Pioneers.
"It's an exciting time at Fremantle and I can't wait to get over and get to work,'' Treacy said.
