The man committed his crimes in northern Victoria between 2015 and April last year, the month he was arrested.
His defence lawyer, Rosalind Avis, told the court on Tuesday that they were seeking an appropriate psychologist to provide a report to the court ahead of the man's next hearing date.
The man remains in custody and will face the County Court again next April.
