A RECORD-BREAKING season for the Kate Hargreaves and Alex Ashwood training partnership shows no signs of slowing following a convincing metropolitan win for Maestro Bellini at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night.

The six-year-old gelding was having only his second start for the stable and backed up from a handy third at Mildura the previous week to score an eye-catching 5.7m win over the 2240m trip.
Brackenreid, from the Elmore stable of Keith Cotchin, was second, with the David Miles-trained Six Elements in third.
All honours belonged to the winner, however, with Maestro Bellini opening up a handy lead in the back straight the last time before easily holding his rivals at bay to win his 16th race at career start number 71.
It was a 102nd Victorian training win this season for Hargreaves and Ashwood's 104th in the sulky.
