READ MORE - Challenging year ahead for HDFNL clubs: Cole
WHITE Hills has suffered a blow, losing what would have been one of its midfield dynamos next season with Kalan Huntly this week quitting the Demons.
Huntly signed with the Demons in early September during what was a frenetic period of recruiting in the Heathcote District league.
However, Huntly has instead now chosen to remain with Koondrook Barham, where he spent 2019.
"Basically, it wasn't what I expected it to be and I had a change of heart. Nothing against the club, I really enjoyed it there," Huntly said on Friday.
"I made the decision to not drag things out. I knew myself it wasn't for me, so I didn't want to let the club and players down as much if I was to drag it out.
"White Hills was a bit disappointed as you'd expect, but understood the situation.
"I feel though they will be in a strong position to challenge for a flag.
"I've decided to head back to Koondrook Barham. I've really enjoyed playing up there and the standard of footy (in the Central Murray league) is high class."
Huntly has played the majority of his senior football at Castlemaine.
