Forest Fire Management Victoria and the Country Fire Authority will carry out the burn at Viola Road, about 1.2 kilometres north east of Huntly, from 10am to midnight.
Authorities warned smoke from the 2.4 hectare burn could be visible to Huntly residents on Friday.

Forest Fire Management advised people to close windows and doors to prevent smoke from entering their homes.
Anyone experiencing symptoms due to smoke exposure should seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
Road travel could also be hazardous due to low visibility associated with smoke. Signs may be in place to slow traffic.
