Jayden Andrew Retallick pleaded guilty in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court to 14 charges arising from the September 2019 crash and other incidents.
In the early afternoon of September 29 last year, Retallick was seen to accelerate quickly across McCrae Street into Bridge Street in a Holden Commodore ute when the light turned green.
He overtook some vehicles before losing control, mounting the kerb and hitting a drain pipe, street sign and bollard.
The car ploughed through a fence before crashing into the wall of a building.
The overall damage was estimated to be worth more than $60,000.
The court heard Retallick was uncooperative with paramedics and became aggressive towards police, saying, "Do you want to start, c**t?"
He was taken to hospital and a blood test came back positive for methamphetamine.
Retallick was also involved in the theft of $150 of cut wood from a Huntly property in June last year.
A vehicle was used to push through a gate to the property, before the wood was loaded into a trailer.
A man arrived at the property and tried to block the vehicle from exiting, but Retallick approached holding a pair of pliers and said, "Move your f***ing car or I'll f***ing stab you".
During the confrontation the victim was physically assaulted and his sunglasses were damaged.

Retallick cut the wire fence to get back out of the property.
Then last August, Retallick attended the Bendigo Health emergency department and asked two doctors to prescribe him oxycodone, but was refused.
When he was prescribed another medication, he added the oxycodone to the script.
But he was not successful in obtaining the medication, the handwritten addition to the script having raised the pharmacist's suspicions.
Retallick pleaded guilty to charges including driving at a dangerous speed, using an unregistered vehicle, failing a drug test within three hours of driving, two counts of hindering an emergency worker on duty, forging a prescription for a section eight poison, using an altered prescription for a drug of dependence, threatening to inflict serious injury, recklessly causing injury, theft, wilfully damaging property, two counts of criminal damage, and failing to answer bail.
Defence lawyer Rob Southgate tendered reports with the court, and said Retallick was now expecting his first child with his partner.
Magistrate Rodney Higgins convicted Retallick and sentenced him to an 18-month community corrections order, with supervision and conditions he undertook treatment and programs to address drug use, his mental health, and offending behaviour.
