A pop-up version of multicultural festival Zinda will spring into action across the first three Fridays in December.

It will involve market stalls selling everything from cook books to jewelry, henna painting, music, and dance performances.

Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services' social enterprise meal delivery service Friday Food Safari will offer pre-ordered takeaway food.

Event co-coordinator Jason Newton said the goal was to build capacity of Bendigo's multicultural community members and support their work.

Mr Newton said attendees would also be able to look through artists' works in studios housed in the building.

He said the event was a COVID-19-safe realisation of a festival that LCMS had sadly been forced to cancel.

LCMS cancelled Bendigo's 2020 Zinda Festival on March 13 due to growing pandemic fears, before it was due to run on Saturday March 14.

In previous years the Zinda Festival has attracted thousands to its main evening event, with music, performance, food, craft, cultural stalls and children's activities.

The Zinda Pop Up will take place at in the Old Beehive building at 18-26 Pall Mall, from 11am to 1pm on December 4, 11 and 18.
