A MAN has been remanded in custody following an alleged stand-off in Dunolly at the weekend.

Police were called to the Dunolly address in the early hours Saturday morning following reports a man had damaged property.
The man was allegedly armed with a knife and made threats to police before barricading himself in the house.

Police started negotiating with the man and the Critical Incident Response Team came from Melbourne to assist.
After about five hours, the man surrendered to police without incident.
The 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with offences including damaging property and threatening police.
He appeared at the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Monday where he was remanded in custody.
The man is due to return to court at a later date.
