A MAN has been found safe and well after going missing.

Police were notified about 6.30pm on Monday that John Burchell had been found safe and well.

A 73-year-old man with dementia has been reported missing in Bendigo.

Police say John Burchell was last seen at a care facility in Ironbark about 10.30am today.

He is known to frequent the Bendigo and Maldon areas.

Police and family are concerned for Mr Burchell, who needs medication, and have appealed for information on his whereabouts.

Mr Burchell was wearing a black T-shirt and black tracksuit pants when he was last seen. He wears reading glasses.

Investigators have urged anyone with information to call the Bendigo Police Station on 5448 1300.
