Australia Post has reported Monday will be its busiest day for parcel deliveries in history, with more than three million due for drop off.
Victoria Rural Network area manager Barbara Young said Bendigo residents had taken to online shopping in droves recently, particularly during last week's sales.
Other news:
"We're seeing a huge amount of parcels in our network from the region after the weekend's online sales events," Ms Young said.
Australia Post has attributed record deliveries to "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" sales, which saw discounts throughout last week.
ECommerce purchases more than 45 per cent higher than the same time last year.
Australia Post has said it expected to deliver 3.1 parcels on Monday.
It's already delivered more than 40 million parcels across its network during November, an average of about 2 million per day.
Since Friday posties have delivered three million parcels across Australia.
Australia Post executive general manager of deliveries Rod Barnes said people had come to rely more on online shopping in 2020.
