It might have been a quiet few months on the pitches at Hockey Central Victoria, but behind the scenes it was a different story.

HCV along with all the eight club committees have been navigating the ups and downs of a year that's been significantly impacted by COVID-19.
However, the good news arrived this week as HCV was able to celebrate the launch and start its senior and masters summer competition alongside the existing Junior (U11, U14 and U18) modified competition.
"Above all, it's pure excitement to see everyone playing again and also using the new pavilion at our centre in Ironbark," HCV president Glenn Pomeroy said.
"During the year there was a lot of work from our strong base of volunteers, committee members and also with guidance from the City of Greater Bendigo who have all gone above and beyond to make sure that when it was safe and appropriate we could get people back playing hockey as soon as possible," Pomeroy said.
"We've missed out on so much international, national, state and local level hockey this year that our plan now is to revitalise and revamp to ensure we are ready to go for 2021 and also able to host events here in Bendigo.
"There's still uncertainty as we move into 2021 but we want to put our best foot forward every time we take a step and encourage people to get back into organised sport, especially hockey."
The recently launched senior and masters summer competition is being played in a modified format where players rock up and are graded and then put into even teams.
The competition commenced this week, with approximately 70 players registered.
"It was a pretty phenomenal and happy moment for us as everyone was so eager to get back out on the pitch to play hockey," Pomeroy said.
Players of all ages and all levels of experience are welcome to join the Hockey Central Vic competitions.
