Church damage saddens
As a former parishioner of View Hill Fellowship previously known as All Saints Cathedral, I was to put it mildly absolutely heartbroken and disgusted to read the article in the Bendigo Advertiser on Saturday, November 21 of the vandalism that has left this beautiful building in ruin.

The photos of the destruction left behind are very difficult to comprehend.

How anyone could do such a thing to a former house of God is beyond comprehension.
I have a framed photograph of the last service held in the Church in all its splendor.
It has pride of place in my living room.

Vandalism linked to security
My great great-grandmother Louisa Harriet Munster was born on the goldfields at MilkMaid Flats near Wedderburn.
She was baptised at All saints Church Bendigo.
She like the local police suggest to Mr Jackman of Millson Development that it is not delays in the planning process damaging the church, but lack of securing the property from vandalism by the owners.

Trump fiddles while USA burns
Deaths in America have surpassed 250,000 due to the Coronavirus ravaging the country, but to put this into further perspective it is the populations of Bendigo and Ballarat combined.
And what does Donald Trump do, he goes and plays golf. Leader of the free world - not a leaders' bootlace.
What person displays such an attitude of ignoring that 160,000 per day are contracting the virus, and 1500 plus are dying.
For completely ignoring the plight of his own people, he should be dragged out of their and thrown in the slammer. It only happens in America, but nobody can excuse such behavior, it is just mind blowing.
One cannot recall when life meant so little to any administration in the western world, never mind the USA. Didn't America get rid of Saddam Hussain for the maltreatment of his people?
How can any leader sit back and watch thousands of his people die on his watch, without at least doing everything possible to prevent it.
America, land of the free. Only problem is, surviving COVID-19 in 2020 is problematic at its best.

Woke confusion
When serving a customer this afternoon, we were chatting about things, as you do. Some of our customers are into decades, rather than years, of calling in, and you do build a bond.
She told me she had read something about people being 'woke', and was confused about what that meant. I explained that it means to be politically awake. It is, I explained, like being politically correct, only dumber.
Aah, she said.
