Sam was then offered some local produce from Sharlee Dunolly-Lee who owns Indigneous tea business Dja-Wonmuruk, Blackwood Orchards Suzanne Pickering and Bendigo Brittle creator Greta Donaldson.
Central Deborah Gold Mine's Elf Academy then helped Sam get into the Christmas spirit before he enjoyed a Chinese Lion Dancing performance to promote next year's Easter Festival.
The Sunrise visit was the result of work between Visit Victoria and Sunrise - who had been showcasing regional Victorian destinations - and Bendigo Tourism.
Bendigo Tourism marketing manager Glenn Harvey said the segments covered whole range of Bendigo attractions, arts and food in an entertaining way.
"We were also working with Visit Victoria to put that segment together," he said. "It was a real collaborative effort where we pitched a lot of ideas with Visit Victoria to Sunrise for when Sam Mac was here.
"It is about getting the Bendigo name back out there to inspire people to come to the region. Something like the Elf Academy is to encourage people to come now."
