PASSERS-BY have helped police arrest a man who allegedly jumped on a woman's car and smashed the windscreen while drug affected in central Bendigo.

Police say the man pushed over property belonging to Chemist Warehouse on Mitchell Street on Monday shortly after 4pm.
He then allegedly jumped onto a woman's car, denting the roof and smashing the windscreen.
Other news:
The woman who was unknown to him was shaken but unhurt.
The man then allegedly assaulted a woman known to him, who was uninjured.
He was held down by members of the public, before being arrested by police.
Bendigo officers thanked the public for their help.
The man, in his late 20s, from Bendigo, is now in police custody. He has not yet been charged.
