DINGEE notched its first win of the Northern United Cricket Association season off the back of a demolition job with the ball by Ash Austin against Calivil on Saturday.
Austin grasped his first opportunity with the ball for the season, bagging 6-19 off eight overs as Calivil was bowled out for 95.
Calivil had been strongly-placed at 2-81 after winning the toss, before Austin wreaked havoc.
Calivil lost its last eight wickets for just 14 runs to be bowled out in the 31st over.
Of Calivil's score of 95, 71 runs came from their top three batsmen George Baker (27), Garner Smith (24) and captain David Dennis (20).
A 50-run opening partnership between Matt Hind (40) and veteran Nic Balic (26) set up the Blowflies' successful run-chase as they took 17 overs to reach 3-96.
Dingee is back in the competition after spending last season in recess.
* Elmore's premiership defence is still without a blemish after the Redbacks defeated Goornong.
Only Jimmy Tuohey (14) reached double figures for the Mountain Goats, who were bowled out for 66 against an Elmore attack that spread the load.
James Harney (2-2), Shivan Goel (2-4), Jim Grogan (2-7) and Pierce Cail (2-20) all took two wickets for the Redbacks.
The Redbacks comfortably chased down their target for the loss of only two wickets, finishing at 2-78.
* Colbinabbin retained its hold of top spot on the ladder without having to raise a sweat after beating Heathcote by forfeit.
The Ducks will now prepare for next week's grand final re-match against Elmore, with both teams going in undefeated.
NEXT WEEK - Colbinabbin v Elmore, Dingee v Heathcote, Calivil v Goornong.
UPPER LODDON
Opposing captains Braydon Welsh and Tas Fitzallen both made unbeaten centuries in their Upper Loddon Association clash.
After being sent in by Kingower, Fitzallen's 106 gave Newbridge an opportunity of causing an upset and winning its first game of the season.
Having come in with the score at 1-29, Fitzallen's century was the backbone of Newbridge's 6-194 from its 35 overs.
However, Welsh thwarted Newbridge's hopes, with the opener batting through the innings to finish unbeaten on 113 in Kingower's 4-203.
Welsh now has two centuries for the season following his 128 against Arnold in round one, with the gun batsman averaging 108.6 from four hits.
No details were supplied for the Bridgewater v Boort-Yando or Wedderburn v Arnold matches.
NEXT WEEK - Boort-Yando v Kingower, Arnold v Bridgewater, Newbridge v Wedderburn.
