The man pleaded guilty in the County Court to aggravated burglary with a person present, common law assault, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, and using a carriage service to menace.
The court heard on September 27 last year, the man and the victim were fighting about the victim liking a number of photos of other men on Facebook.

About 4.46pm that day, the victim was at home when she received a text from the man saying, "Got about one minute to reply to answer your phone. Reply or come to the door before I force entry."
The victim did not respond because she was in bed and the man let himself into the house. He entered the bedroom where the victim was sleeping.
The court heard the man grabbed her by the arm and rolled her over to face him. He demanded to know where her phone was and that he wanted to look through it.
The victim hid the phone under the doona cover so he couldn't see it, but he grabbed the victim's jumper around the chest area and lifted her off the bed before dropping her back onto it.
The court heard he sat on her hip area and pinned her to the bed by placing his left hand on her neck and jaw.
He took her phone and looked through it while she was pinned to the bed. He also spat in her face a couple of times.
The man eventually moved away from the victim but kept looking through her phone. She told him to leave a number of times but he said he wouldn't until he was done with her phone.
He told her to call the police on him and get him arrested, but he kept the phone so she couldn't do so.
The victim asked how he got into the house and he said he climbed through the bathroom window.
The court heard after close to an hour, the man stopped going through the phone and started taking some photos of conversations between the victim and her father.
The man left the house but returned about 10 minutes later when the victim was in her car in the driveway.
The man asked her if she was going to the police station and she told him she was going to her parent's house for dinner.
The court heard she showed him the swelling to her jaw where he had grabbed her. He told her to cover it up before she went anywhere.
The court heard then about 9.38pm on October 10, the victim missed a call from the man.
About 20 minutes later, the victim received a message from the man telling her to take down a post she had made on Facebook about him.
He called her several times over a few minutes and sent text messages threatening to come to her house unless she deleted the post.
The court heard shortly after 11.30pm, the victim heard his car pulling into her driveway.
He walked to her back door, which was locked. The victim shut and locked the bathroom window while he walked around to the front of the house and said "f****** open the door".
The court heard the man called her and sent her several threatening text messages over a period of 10 minutes.
The victim contacted her father, who said he was coming to her house and had called the police.

The victim heard the man attempt to open the front door, return to his car, and then go to the bathroom window where he got into the house.
The court heard the man entered the bedroom where the victim was and turned on the bedroom light while verbally abusing her.
The woman held her phone to her chest, and he threw a pillow at her before grabbing her jumper.
She screamed at him to get off her and they scuffled before the victim broke away and left the bedroom. He followed her and put his hand above her mouth, telling her to calm down.
The victim grabbed her keys and went out the front door. He followed her outside so she continued to walk out onto the road.
The court heard the man eventually got into his car and the victim stood in the driveway in an attempt to stop him from leaving before police arrived.
The man yelled at her to move or else he would run her over. He reversed back into the victim, who grabbed onto the spoiler connected to the boot.
He continued to reverse down the driveway and to the gutter on the other side, all while the victim was still holding on.
When he stopped, she fell off the bonnet and hurt her ankle. He drove away before police arrived.
The court heard he called and messaged her several times in the seven hours after the incident.
The man was arrested on October 15 last year at his father's home. He mainly provided a no-comment interview to police.
Judge Howard Mason said it was clear the texting was threatening and abusive, and had caused anxiety for the victim.
The Judge said the victim also deserved to feel safe in her home.
"Breaches of that sanctity can result in traumatic anxieties," Judge Mason said.
Judge Mason said in his sentencing, he would factor in that the man had entered a guilty plea at an early stage. He said the man's long history of drug abuse and young age were also factors.
But Judge Mason said he could not accept the man felt any strong sense of remorse for the victim. The Judge also said he believed the man's rehabilitation prospects were guarded.
The man was sentenced to three years and four months in jail, with a non-parole period of one year and 10 months.
He already served 402 days in pre-sentence detention, which was reckoned as already served.
