"(I) am proud and honoured to have been elected mayor of the City of Greater Bendigo this evening," Cr Alden said on Facebook.
"I look forward to working with deputy mayor Andrea Metcalf and our new councillor team plus staff as we work on COVID-19 recovery and seize all the opportunities that are emerging to create a healthy, vibrant and resilient community into the future."
She hopes to create well-designed, resilient and prosperous communities that benefit from future-focused decision making.
