With a Science/Engineering background 'man-made global warming' causes me much concern, yet even more so due to the haphazard and inadequate response shown by our politicians over many decades.
I thank the Bendigo Advertiser for its support on this matter over recent years.

Sheep show looks forward
Wonderful to read that planning is underway for the Bendigo Easter Festival 2021 - what a boost this will be for our Bendigo businesses.
Readers will be interested to know that the Australian Sheep and Wool Show is now full steam ahead with planning for 2021, so save the dates July 16-18 at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds.
We know that our event is a huge boost to accommodation, food and retail providers in our great city and we will have a Covid safe event plan in place to ensure the safety of all.
We welcome inquiries from those wishing to participate via ceo@sheepshow.com

A meter of choice?
Victorian electricity customers are being dudded again. Elsewhere in Australia, people can choose whether or not they want a smart meter that communicates wirelessly.
If the Victorian Government would adopt the national Competition in Metering rule, then each of us could choose for ourselves whether or not we wanted to have a communicating meter.
This is especially important for people with health issues.
As it stands, even if people have a medical certificate requesting exemption, they are being refused.
If you would like to be able to have a choice, please sign Legislative Council E-petition 259, which is due to be tabled in Parliament next week.
Janobai Smith, Fryerstown
Christmas cheer
Last week a friend of ours had his bicycle stolen from the front of his house (off the back of his car).
This friend is a carer and one of his clients is a young man who loves being taken for bike rides.
He doesn't enjoy too much else in life and can't understand why he can't be taken now.
Maybe the thief has only borrowed the bike and plans to return it, therefore it could just be left against the fence and that's the end of it. The security tape hasn't been given to the police yet, so hopefully won't need to be.
Go on, do the right thing.
It'll make you feel good and Santa might even come to you.
Brenda Preston, Strathdale
