A man has died after his car collided with a tree in Eddington, south west of Bendigo.
Central Goldfields Highway Patrol officers are investigating the crash which happened at 4.35pm on Saturday afternoon.
The sole occupant of the car died at the scene.

Police are yet to establish the man's identity.
They will prepare a report for the coroner.

FIREFIGHTERS are leaving the scene of the crash.
Police are understood to still be on scene.

THE Country Fire Authority has marked the Eddington Crash as under control.
The Bendigo Advertiser has contacted Ambulance Victoria or police about the status of anyone in the car, which is understood to have crashed into a tree a short time ago.
4.50pm
FIRE crews and paramedics are arriving at the scene of a crash in Eddington.
They are responding to reports of a vehicle crashing into a tree, Ambulance Victoria has confirmed.
Paramedics are yet to assess anyone at the scene.
The crash was reported in the past 20 minutes.
The incident is taking place on Bendigo-Maryborough Road, between Mullins-Eddington Road and Playfair Street, close to the Barringhup West Satellite station.
