Catherine McAuley College, Bendigo Senior Secondary College and East Loddon P-12 students will join hundreds of others at the National Youth Science Forum.
The successful students all love science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
CMC year 11 student Deanna Duane said the forum would hopefully give her an idea about what career opportunities there were in the always-changing STEM.
A teacher encouraged Deanna and all the students in her class to apply for the forum.
Deanna said she'd loved science, particularly maths, since primary school.
"I loved all the areas of STEM so much that I couldn't choose what areas I was most interested in," she said
"When I heard about the NYSF I was like, 'Great, yes, this will help me find some direction in life'.
"I just really hope to learn a lot about my future, and how it could look with STEM."
The forum will look a little different this year, as organisers adapt it to the COVID-19 situation. Instead of a central residential conference, students will take part in an online conference over two weeks.
Local events and visits will also take place if COVID-19 restrictions allow.
Deanna said the black and white nature of right and wrong answers in STEM appealed to her.
She said it was satisfying problem solving and working towards an answer.
Her subjects this year were software development, maths methods, specialist mathematics, physics, Indonesian, English literature and religious education.
Other news:
Three students from BSSC, two from CMC and two from East Loddon P-12 will take part in the National Youth Science Forum.
The central Victorian students will be financially supported to attend the forum by the Rotary clubs of Bendigo.
Rotary Club of Bendigo youth director Joy Bruce said the forum set students up well for the future, opening doors to contacts and ideas.
