More than 60 new athletes joined the come and try day at the Flora Hill athletics complex.
The highlight of the morning was the performance of Connor Clarke in the under-16 high jump.
Athletics Bendigo manager Terry Hicks confirmed that Clarke's mark of 1.64m was a new Bendigo record.
Hicks said Clarke was one of many talented teenagers coming through the junior ranks in Bendigo.
Any juniors who would like to try Little Athletics can contact Athletics Bendigo or attend the track this Saturday morning.
