The 35-year-old North Bendigo woman was arrested by police on Wednesday after they alleged she stole a motor neuron disease charity tin from Castlemaine's Maxi IGA on October 23.
Police believe the tin was about three-quarters full and carried close to $300.

Leading Senior Constable Grant Kendall said the woman was on a community corrections order and bail for other offences when the theft occurred.
"With the help of CCTV and work by police members, she was arrested (on Wednesday) afternoon," he said.
"She has been granted bail to appear at Castlemaine Magistrates Court on January 29."
Leading Senior Constable Kendall said the incident was a reminder for stores to ensure any charity tins on display are secured to the counter.
