The Lost Trades Fair, Bendigo Open House and the Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival highlight next year's slate of events.

Bendigo council's tourism and major events manager Terry Karamaloudis said he hoped the events would give the local tourism industry hope for next year.

"All these events will have COVID Safe Plans in place to ensure they are safe for participants," Mr Karamaloudis said.

"The City has an outstanding reputation with event owners and associations around the nation, as well as excellent infrastructure, which has resulted in event owners wanting to return to Greater Bendigo."

A host of sporting events are slated for 2021, including the Bowls Victoria men's and women's state champions week, basketball state championships, Bendigo Badminton International and Calisthenics Victoria state titles.

Bendigo Tourism Board chair Finn Vedelsby said major events bring families from far and wide to Bendigo.

"All of those families are going to need somewhere to stay and eat and drink in our restaurants and cafes," Mr Vedelsby said.

"From our family friendly caravan parks through to our top end hotels and motels, they are all going to see much needed revenue."

A number of Bendigo's high-profile tourism drawcards, including the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, White Night, Bendigo on the Hop and the Bendigo Writers Festival were not included in the list, as stakeholders and officials continue to book events for 2021.
