Bendigo's Discovery Science and Technology Centre will celebrate its 25th birthday with a Halloween scavenger hunt on Saturday.

The Discovery team is hoping families will show off their best Halloween costumes as they take part in the scavenger hunt around central Bendigo.
Despite being temporarily closed due to coronavirus restrictions, Discovery science communicator Alissa Van Soest said the team had fun creating clues for the hunt.

"Usually for our birthday celebration invite everyone get dressed up for a science show and party," she said. "But since we cant open doors, we are taking the celebrations to the streets.
"We want people to dress up for the scavenger hunt. It is all within walking distance from Discovery - we are trying make it easy for families regardless if they have got prams or push bikes.
"It's amazing to think Discovery been around for 25 years. We talk to people who bring their kids now and they can remember coming when they were young."
