Punters have sided with a proven Apiam Bendigo Cup formula early in betting for Wednesday's great race.
Saracen Knight was the best-backed runner with the TAB on Tuesday, firming from $7 into $6.
The imported stayer is part-owned by high-profile businessmen Lloyd Williams and Gerry Ryan, who between them have won the Bendigo Cup four times in the past 16 years.
Saracen Knight, prepared by Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Danny O'Brien, will be ridden by Damien Oliver.
The other firmer early in betting is the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Lord Belvedere.
The seven-year-old has won three of his past four starts and he has good form around the talented Persan and Chapada.
After opening equal favourite alongside Pondus and Zebrowski, Lord Belvedere was outright favourite on Tuesday night at $4.80. Pondus and Zebrowski remain at $5.
Bendigo mare Super Girl has her admirers in the Cup.
The Josh Julius-trained stayer was a $23 chance on Tuesday morning, but by Tuesday night she'd firmed to $21.
