Julius accepted with Super Girl for Saturday's Group Two Moonee Valley Cup (2500m) - a race that carries $100,000 more in prize money than the Bendigo Cup.
However, Julius decided on Friday to scratch the six-year-old mare from Moonee Valley and have a crack at the Bendigo Cup for the second-straight year.
"We accepted for Moonee Valley because the nominations for the Bendigo Cup weren't out yet,'' Julius said.
"We really wanted to look at how the Bendigo Cup field would look before making a final decision. We wanted to run her where she had the best chance to win a race.
"Moonee Valley ticked quite a few boxes with the impending rain, good draw and light weight.
"However, her blood picture on Thursday morning wasn't quite where we would have liked it, so we decided to give her a few more days and head to Bendigo instead.
"Fingers crossed we get a good draw, get a few favours and we can win our hometown Cup."
Super Girl ran eighth, beaten just over four lengths by Top Of The Range in last year's Bendigo Cup.
She's gone to another level in the past 12 months and has been competitive in Group races this campaign.
Super Girl, who will carry 55kg in the Bendigo Cup, will be ridden by Jordan Childs.
Julius confirmed Super Girls promising stablemates Highclass Harry and Just Folk would run in support races on Bendigo Cup day.
Both horses are entered for multiple races, including a heat of the Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Series over 1400m.
Highclass Harry has already qualified for the $500,000 final at Flemington on Oaks Day, but Just Folk hasn't.
The concern for Julius is Just Folk mightn't get a run in the final heat at Bendigo because of his low rating.
"They'll both run on Wednesday, but I'm not sure which races they'll be in,'' Julius said.
"I'll have a look as the acceptances flow in over the weekend and then make a decision on Monday morning.
"I'm not sure if I'll split them up or run them both in the heat of the country series. Harry needs a run ahead of the final at Flemington and I'd love to get Just Folk a run in the heat to give him a chance of qualifying for the final."
The final fields for Wednesday's Cup meeting will be announced on Monday morning.
