The Department of Health and Human Services' morning update revealed no additional deaths as a result of coronavirus, with the death toll since the pandemic's outset remaining at 817 lives lost.
The 14-day rolling new case average in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria have both decreased.

To October 22, the 14-day average in regional Victoria is 0.3, down from 0.4.
In metropolitan Melbourne, the average is 5.5 and was 6.1 on Thursday.
On Thursday, Mr Andrews said regional Victoria is home to three active cases, all residents of Greater Shepparton.
Central Victoria has been without a COVID-19 cases for 24 days. The last active case was in the Macedon Ranges on September 29. Greater Bendigo's last active case was on September 24 - 29 days ago.
