The plant's lagoon volume sits at 96 per cent and the water authority says it is compliant with its Environment Protection Authority licence conditions for water quality and river flow dilution.
From Monday, October 19 the plant was releasing four megalitres of tertiary-treated class B recycled water and class B recycled water into the Campaspe River each day, but this increased to five megalitres on Wednesday in the face of more rain.
The tertiary-treated water comes from the plant's domestic treatment system, while the additional class B water comes from the lagoon system.
Coliban Water says it also began carting water to other reclamation plants on Monday in a bid to create more lagoon storage space.
The organisation says it is "doing everything possible" to remain compliant with its EPA licence.
Kyneton is forecast to receive 10 to 20 millimetres of rain on Friday.
The wet weather is expected to continue into Saturday and showers are forecast throughout the following week.
