City of Greater Bendigo resource recovery and education manager Brooke Pearce said the event was the safest way for residents to dispose of unwanted household chemicals that may be stored around homes.
"Household chemicals can be dangerous and the event is a great opportunity to get rid of these products in a safe and environmentally friendly way," Ms Pearce said.
"You must register to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions and those who fail to do this will be turned away at the gate."
Residents can dispose of a range of items, including acids, aerosol cans, cooking oil, disinfectants, fire extinguishers, waxes, kerosene, weed killers, paint stripper and rat poison.
The collected material will be treated and recycled or disposed of safely by a specialist team.
Less toxic items such as paint, household batteries, flourescent light bulbs and tubes and gas bottles can be recycled year round at the Eaglehawk Recycle Shop Recovery Yard on Upper California Gully Road, Eaglehawk.
