V/Line trains are again being replaced by coaches after a second fault hit the regional train network on Saturday.
The fault is believed to be the same issue that affected services earlier in the day.
Work is under way to rectify the issue, but it is not known when normal services will resume.
V/Line train services are set to resume after a fault this morning.
The Department of Transport advises some services might be delayed, while others will be replaced with coaches.
Passengers should check station platform displays, listen for announcements, and allow extra time for their journey.
Updates are available through the PTV app and website.
A network-wide communications fault means coaches are currently replacing V/Line trains.
The Department of Transport says all departures have been cancelled and trains mid-journey at the time of the fault have been moved to the nearest station.
Passengers are advised to check station platform displays, listen for announcements, and allow extra travel time.
Services will resume when the fault is fixed.
The department says updates will be made available through the PTV app.
