Former Bendigo journalist Jeremi Moule has been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, replacing Chris Eccles, who resigned last Monday.

Mr Moule has worked as a journalist in Bendigo at the ABC and WIN News and served as chief executive of Consulting Education Bendigo.
A foray into basketball coaching saw Mr Moule land stints with Women's National Basketball League teams in Bendigo and Adelaide.

Mr Moule has served as the DPC's deputy secretary of governance policy and coordination since August 2018.
In this role, he has been responsible for leading Victoria's public sector governance, performance and reform, while overseeing emergency management and strategic communications.
Mr Moule has held roles with the DPC in South Australia as an executive director and served as executive director of strategic communication, engagement and protocol in Victoria, beginning in 2015.
Premier Daniel Andrews welcomed Mr Moule's appointment.
"Jeremi's breadth of experience both in and outside of government see him uniquely placed to lead the public service through the next phase of recovery from the pandemic," he said.
