Elmore Bakery's successful drive-through venture on the site of the former Newmarket Hotel has prompted owner-baker Travis Wilson to establish a shopfront down the road on Kennedy Street.

"We were always steady at the drive-through and would have liked to have stayed there, but moving nearby, we have maintained our client base.
The requirement for advance bookings at restaurants and cafes has created a buzz around the bakery, which is ideally suited to take away.

"When the weather is good, we definitely have a rush," Mr Wilson said.
"People come in, grab their food and go to the park."
A drive-through bakery making its return in the future remains a possibility, with Mr Wilson eager to discover an appropriate site.
"If we find a location for a drive-through, we would jump on that very quickly," he said.
Elmore Bakery is located at 6/23 Kennedy Street, Bendigo.
Open seven days, from 6am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on weekends.
